We're starting from the ground up — and we need you with us.

The New Mexico Community Roots Foundation is at the very beginning of its journey. We have a vision, a plan, and a deep commitment to the South Valley of Albuquerque. What we don't yet have is the land improvements, infrastructure, and resources to bring that vision to life.

Every donation — large or small — plants a seed for what this space will become: a place where children learn by doing, families connect with the land, and our community's heritage is honored and passed forward.

NMCRF is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Where Your Donation Goes

We believe in being honest about what we need and where your support will make a difference. Here's what we're working toward right now.

💧 Water Infrastructure — Our #1 Priority GOAL: $25,000

Nothing grows without water. Before we can plant a single seed, raise a single animal, or welcome a single family, we need reliable water access on our land. This is the foundation everything else is built on.

Your donation helps fund:

Well drilling and pump installation
Irrigation lines for the youth garden and learning areas
Water storage tanks and distribution
Troughs and clean water access for animal care areas

🏡 A Home Base for the Foundation GOAL: $20,000

We need a functional office and gathering space — somewhere to store supplies, host meetings with community partners, welcome volunteers, and run the day-to-day work of the foundation.

A simple, practical structure is the next step in making our programs possible.

🐓 Animal Housing GOAL: $8,000

Safe, humane, species-specific enclosures for our future chickens and rabbits, along with fencing, feed storage, and daily care supplies.

🌱 The Youth Garden GOAL: $5,000

Raised beds, soil, seeds, hand tools, and the materials young gardeners will need to learn planting, soil health, and harvesting.

Suggested Giving Levels

Every gift matters. Here are a few ways to think about your contribution:

$25 — The Seedling: Helps fund soil, seeds, or hand tools for the youth garden
$50 — The Sprout: Supports feed and daily care supplies for animals
$100 — The Sapling: Contributes to fencing, irrigation line, or materials for animal housing
$250 — The Grower: Helps fund a rabbit hutch or chicken coop build
$500 — The Cultivator: Supports a water storage tank or major irrigation component
$1,000+ — The Roots Circle: Contributes directly to our well and core infrastructure fund

Donate Materials, Tools, or Supplies (In-Kind Giving)

Can't give financially right now? In-kind donations are just as valuable — especially in our early building phase. We are currently accepting:

Lumber, fencing, and building materials
Hand tools, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows
Irrigation supplies (piping, hoses, drip line, fittings)
Water storage tanks and troughs
Gardening supplies (soil, compost, seeds, raised bed materials)
Animal care supplies (feeders, waterers, bedding)

Our Promise to You

We are a community-rooted, volunteer-driven foundation in our earliest chapter. That means:

Your donation goes directly to building. We don't have overhead-heavy operations. Funds go to infrastructure, animals, programs, and the land itself.

We'll keep you updated. As we grow, you'll see exactly what your support helped create — through photos, progress updates, and open invitations to visit.

Transparency matters to us. If you ever want to know how your contribution was used, just ask.
